Chefs Delight – Professions
The mod registers two villager professions (VillagerProfession) — chefsdelight:chef and chefsdelight:cook — defined in ModVillagers.java.
👨🍳 Chef
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| In-game name | Chef (entity.minecraft.villager.chefsdelight.chef) |
| Profession (ID) | chefsdelight:chef |
| Point of interest | chefsdelight:chef_poi — all block states of the Cooking Pot (farmersdelight:cooking_pot) |
| Sound on acquiring the job | Vanilla bubble-column ambient sound — bubbles rising |
🥘 Cook
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| In-game name | Cook (entity.minecraft.villager.chefsdelight.cook) · pt: Cozinheiro |
| Profession (ID) | chefsdelight:cook |
| Point of interest | chefsdelight:cook_poi — all block states of the Skillet (farmersdelight:skillet) |
| Sound on acquiring the job | “Skillet hissing” — Farmer’s Delight food-added-to-Skillet sound (farmersdelight:block.skillet.add_food) |
ℹ️ Each POI has
maxTickets = 1andvalidRange = 3: a single villager can claim the block, searching up to 3 blocks away. Both POIs are in the vanilla tagminecraft:point_of_interest_type/acquirable_job_site(required: false), so jobless villagers naturally pick up the profession when they find the block.
🎮 How to get them in game
- Natural: place a Cooking Pot (Chef) or a Skillet (Cook) near a jobless villager — within ~3 blocks — or generate villages containing the mod’s houses.
- Command (example):/summon minecraft:villager ~ ~ ~ {VillagerData:{profession:”chefsdelight:chef”}}
ℹ️ The professions ship no offers in their own registry: the trades are added through the NeoForge
VillagerTradesEventinModEvents.java.
🧟 Zombie variants
The mod includes textures for zombie villagers of both professions (assets/chefsdelight/textures/entity/zombie_villager/profession/chef.png and cook.png), so the outfits also apply in zombie form.
